A daily rate is a fee charged to a driver for the use of a vehicle. The total cost is based on the _actual pickup_ and _actual dropoff_ days, which can be found in the contract details for each contract.

**To configure a daily rate:**

1. [Login](https://support.dealerware.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022159693-Dealerware-Web-Overview-Login-Functionality) to **Dealerware Web** (ensure you have the [admin permission](https://support.dealerware.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022563634-How-do-I-update-an-employee-s-permissions-in-Dealerware-Web-))
2. Navigate to [**Programs**](https://support.dealerware.com/hc/en-us/articles/11977316000019-What-are-Vehicle-Groups-and-how-do-I-configure-them-#h_01GMV1CQQSHQT92DJ5EX3YSKCS)
3. Select the **Program(s)** that you would like to apply a daily rate to
4. Scroll to the **“Daily Rate”** section
5. Select either a standard daily rate or [rates by model](https://support.dealerware.com/hc/en-us/articles/10597508044051-What-are-Rates-by-Model-and-how-do-I-configure-them-) and enter your preferred rate
6. Select **Save**
7. Select **Done** at the bottom of the page

**To charge a customer a daily rate:**

1. [Assign the desired vehicles](https://support.dealerware.com/hc/en-us/articles/11977316000019-What-are-Vehicle-Groups-and-how-do-I-configure-them-#h_01GMV1EHKMW8E2F4PZ56NZFP7V) to the Program with a daily rate
2. Select the Program with a daily rate when [starting a contract](https://support.dealerware.com/hc/en-us/articles/1500002608142-Manage-Contracts-Start-Finish-and-Edit-Contracts)
3. Select “[Charge Now” at contract finish](https://support.dealerware.com/hc/en-us/articles/360022103473-How-do-I-finish-a-contract-in-Dealerware-Mobile-) to charge the customer the daily rate

A single Daily Rate is applied to the customer’s balance upon contract start. 24.5 hours after contract start, an additional Daily Rate is incurred, and so on. Dealerware does not prorate or charge partial days. Example:

- Contract Length: 1 Hour = 1 Daily Rate charge
- Contract Length: 24 Hours = 1 Daily Rate charge
- Contract Length 25 Hours= 2 Daily Rate charges
- Contract Length 48 hours = 2 Daily Rate charges

**When are Daily Rates charged?**

Daily Rates are charged once a contract is finished using Dealerware Web or Mobile. If you have enabled a Daily Rate, it’s best practice to highlight such in your location’s Agreement Terms.
